Body Care Information, Requirements For Transport

If a beloved animal companion passes naturally at home, BlackCat Veterinary Care can assist with aftercare.

We understand that this is likely an emotional time for you and your family, and we aim to exceed your expectations when it comes to the gentle handling and transport of your cherished family member.

In order to ensure the health and well-being of BlackCat Veterinary staff, please prepare for our visit by meeting these minimum requirements:

1. Your pet should be wrapped in a clean sheet, towel, or blanket. Collars should be removed.

2. There must be easy access to the deceased. BlackCat Veterinary staff cannot remove remains from difficult to navigate or hard to reach areas.

3. We ask that the area around the remains be cleaned and free from excess body fluids. We also ask that the material your pet is wrapped in be clean and dry.

4. When scheduling, please provide the date and time of your pet’s passing and any special circumstances which may vary from our pick-up requirements when you schedule the appointment.
